New approaches to didactics and the role of school librarian in the educational process
The paper presents a critically based overview of didactic approaches and models that have been developing as a part of the education idea in 21st century. The discussion is focused on challenges provoked by information and telecommunication technology and its applications in the educational processes. The light is also shad upon social changes that influence the process of reform in education. A special attention is paid towards the role of the school librarian (or rather teacher-librarian) in the whole education process and the need to reccognise its competencies for activities taken in changeable environment. Furthermore, the need for cooperation between teachers and school librarians is stresses in order to highlight its value for the education.
